Blog Hopping Builds Relationships
When I took my first tentative steps to start an Internet business, it was so that I could add another income stream to my gardening/landscaping business which hopefully would allow me to be able to give my family a little better standard of living!
But it has become so much more! I have formed relationships with people from all over the world, who have similar Dreams and goals like myself, the great thing is we have all been able to share each others knowledge and support each other when needed either personally or business wise!
That,s the joy of the Internet, because it allows you to overcome either your shyness or your inability to talk to people face to face!
If I had not started this journey I would not have learnt so much in such a short space of time, in fact I have probable absorbed more this year, other than when I was a small child in shorts! (I hated those shorts) still that,s another story!
With the technology we have available to us today, we have far more opportunities available to us than ever before, but it,s up to us to take those opportunities and run with them! And yes not every thing will work, but if you don,t try you will never know!
Getting involved with John Thornhills Master class has enabled me to take my first steps to building a sustainable business online! The side effect from being on the course is the other great students I have met and formed friendships with during this past year, it,s also been very enjoyable watching each student who have stuck with the course building their own path as they have developed there knowledge base!
I still find it hard to believe that at the age of 56 that I actually enjoy learning new things (I hated school) but it is just like I was born again and cannot wait for the sun to come up and to learn something new!
This week has really lifted my spirits! Firstly a fellow student and compulsive blogger John McNally included my blog in his top five this week! Now this is no mean feat when John does blogging like nobody else I know, granted my post was about my new Android phone and John still uses smoke signals unless he is blogging! Sorry John only kidding lol
I also noticed another friend Bill Murney was up there in Johns top five for the second week running( do you write your posts just for John bill?) so well done to him and good luck with his new walking book too!
It was also very pleasing to be contacted by a fellow marketer who has asked me to write a guest post for him in the coming weeks, now that really has got the juices flowing! that,s the great thing about this business you just never know what opportunies may drop into your lap! (All good things come from small seeds! so remember to sow yours) now is the time!!!!!
I must admit I can see why some people can get hooked on blog hopping! Because it has really opened my eyes to what is possible if you just take Action! The world can really be your Oyster if you find the right grain of sand (niche idea) and run with it!
A new blog I visited this week was Sally Neil’s , and she has a really great project she is working on , and she is giving everyone the opportunity to have there own url link in her new book, (so pop along and take a look)
Well just from writing this post I have come up with a few new ideas to add to my blog, variations on a theme, but then again most things are!
So I look forward to seeing you again , and I look forward to reading your comments below!
All the best
Nick

Excellent advice in the video Terry. Sorry Nick I couldn’t resist that!
Thanks for the mention and yes we have all come a long way in 12 months or so. I have noticed how much your own blog and posts have improved over that time. Although you have a full time business to attend to, you have never lost your enthusiasm for the online one.
I don’t write posts especially for John though Nick, it’s just that we have a lot in common – physical activity, atheism, humour, both hate BS and like the odd drink now and again. John writes a wide range of excellent posts on subjects that always interest me.
Like yourself, I have met some great people through blogging and hopefully will continue to do so.

now if the wife starts calling me terry I will be worried !
I have to be honest I am not as far forward with my Internet business as I would have liked to have been, but I am still very pleased on what I have learned so far, just like you I need to start earning a tad more from my efforts, but you can be sure I am in in for the long term!
I was only kidding about John writing his blogs just for you! its good that we are able to find so many people with similar interests to ourselves via our blogs!
All the best
Nick or should it be Terry lol
Home early wet through again!
Hey Nick,
Great post and boy can I relate to you. Okay, here goes… I’m giving it away but I’m 53 and I LOVE learning too. I am excited to get up every single morning because I get to continue with my online journey of learning and growing not only from my training community but from other bloggers as well.
I love visiting different blogs each day and commenting. Not only have I learned from them but I have made some awesome connections as well. I love what the internet affords us to be able to do and how we are able to connect with people we may have never had a chance to meet.
Thanks so much for sharing this post with us all.
Here’s to your ongoing success my friend.

Hey Nick,
blog commenting like penny said is all about getting interactive, with your own audience1
I’d like to add to pennys statement in the video on approaching high profile blogs such as nher own, these blogs have high traffic flows, and by leaving regular comments on them you can start to redirect a great deal of that traffic to your blogposts.
But to get more successs from this I take it to the next level, by only targeting the same ‘niche blogs’ as mine this makes the traffic laser targeted and generates far more valuable comments being left on your blog postposts!
Great post Nick….Ed.
Many thanks for the great tip Ed! Thats why I like to go blog hopping when I have the time, so that I can learn and link with similar blogs to myself!
All the best

Still Learning
Hi Nick
A great video, my first encounter with Penny Power. I agree with what she says…online is just a extension of your off line persona, so just be yourself.
I will be checking out more of Penny’s videos and see what other useful tips she has to offer.
Thanks Nick

Hi Nick,
It’s interesting that you mention Sally Neills ebook, because a year later, that is where I found your blog. I am still new to blog hopping and just getting my internet marketing business up and running, but I am excited because I have a great coach who is helping me every step of the way. I am joining her first annual JV giveaway event this month and hope to build my targeted list. Have you ever been involved with JV giveaway events? My coach swears by them.
Take care,
~Jeremy
